Featured Collaborations

As your Thought Partner, I can help you with a variety of projects.  This page features a number of collaborations I've worked on since 2013 to illustrate the sorts of projects I can help you with.
The common theme in every project is to help you learn how to help yourself, your organization and community thrive.

Professional Development event Planning

I'm honoured to have Chaired the committee planning the annual Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) Eastern Ontario Conferences held in Kingston, Ontario, since the inaugural conference held on September 20, 2018.
The virtual conference committee includes volunteers from Durham, Peterborough, Cobourg, Quinte West, Belleville, Prince Edward County, Kingston, Brockville, Cornwall, and
HRPA staff in Toronto.

As the Chair, I also act as MC.  One of the 2019 survey comments read “The MC and keynote speakers were fantastic. I really appreciated how the MC kept things on track (as promised), was clear with her delivery and demonstrated such wonderful bridging. I liked that the event seemed overall informal/friendly while still in a business setting. I appreciate the grassroots feel and that there was not an overwhelming presence of exhibitors. The networking opportunities were nice, but some could have been shortened to 15 mins."

Note: the agenda for the HRPA Eastern Ontario conference has 15 minute networking breaks!

And more

I'm open to opportunities to collaborate on projects with you and your organization.  I particularly like working wtih those who: share my values; actively seek to create organizations and communities that reflect equality, diversity, inclusion (EDI); and treat everyone with respect.

PRO BONO SPEAKING

I'm very much aware of the privilege I enjoy from growing up in a military family, and then serving as a senior officer in the Canadian Armed Forces.  My upbringing and career experience created a deep respect for equality, diversity and inclusion.

I genuinely believes that all people have something to offer, that our differences make us valuable members of the team, and that we can all learn from each other.

I "pay it forward" by regularly speaking on a pro bono basis to groups helping those who haven't enjoyed the same privilege.  Examples include: Abigail's Centre, Girls Inc. Limestone & District, and Business & Professional Women International (BPWI).

Writing

I've had articles published in the Ottawa Business Journal, Women Mean Business: Flourish ezine, and the Canadian Military Journal.

I use stories from my life and career to illustrate points on
Leadership, Inclusion & Diversity, Mentoring, and other topics.

For two years, I had the honour of being the senior editor, for the
Aboriginal Women's Economic Quarterly. I worked with a diverse team of people from all genders, both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal under the auspice of the social enterprise the Idea Connector Network.
